Before Scheduling
Register your class at least two weeks in advance of the Zoo Expedition date.

Gather the following information:

Plan your schedule carefully - Make your travel arrangements and coordinate with co-workers before you call the Zoo.

The Zoo requires one adult chaperone for each 10
children. Chaperones must be at least 19 years of age
and remain with the group the entire day.

Homeschool groups — Bring a copy of the letter from
your school district superintendent registering the name
and age of the home schooled children. One adult per
family is admitted free-of-charge, second adult per
family at chaperone rate, home-schooled students are
admitted at current school rate. Other adults and sib-
lings are admitted at general Zoo admission
rates. Parking for private vehicles is $6.50 per vehicle
(rates subject to change).

Please note “Express Registration” should only be used for registering a Zoo Expedition without one of our pre-scheduled education programs.

After your program is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation packet with information specific for your expedition including program times and places, chaperone tips, and expedition ideas.

Teachers (salaried staff) FREE
Parking (buses) FREE
Chaperones (with advance reservation) $5
• No pre-payment accepted.
• Year-round school rates are available.
• Rates are subject to change.
• Siblings and adults exceeding the number of
students pay regular Admisson rates.
• Zoo memberships and coupons not accepted for school
visits. Parking add-ons can be used for private vehicles.
• No refunds under $10.

TEACHER PRE-VISIT:
Teachers are admitted to the Zoo free of charge to prepare for a Zoo Expedition. Please contact us several days in advance of this preview trip to get your name on the gate sheet. Families are welcome, but will pay regular admission rates.

CANCELLATIONS AND EXTRA FEES:
• There is a $30 cancellation fee for any program
canceled less than 24 hours in advance of program
date.
• Programs will be held regardless of weather condi-
tions unless a weather emergency is declared.
• A $10 fee will be charged for rescheduling more
than twice.
