Black-and-White Ruffed Lemur
Varecia variegata variegata

The largest of the true lemurs, the ruffed lemur spends most of its time in the upper half of the canopy. They prefer large, tall trees for resting and foraging, which unfortunately are also the favored targets of loggers. As loggers remove mature trees from the rainforest, lemurs lose out.
