The bonobo is one of more than 30 protected wildlife species that are illegally hunted for the commercial sale of their meat, known as the bushmeat trade. Conservation organizations are working together as the Bushmeat Crisis Task Force to halt the illegal trade through education and conservation action.

Diet: Fruit, seeds, leaves, flowers, fungi, eggs and small animals
