Orangutan
Pongo abelii
The orangutan is a large animal with a hefty appetite for fruit,
requiring a large home range of fruit-producing forest habitat.
Unfortunately, much of the forest is being destroyed, primarily
through commercial logging. Current measures of habitat protection
and management must strengthen to save this endangered species
from extinction.
