Adult Volunteer Opportunities Volunteering is Fun and Rewarding!
Whether you are helping with special events, making crafts, planting bulbs, or educating visitors, you will have rewarding experiences as you learn fascinating facts about plants and animals… and share them with others. Volunteers are involved in almost every area of the Zoo’s operation. See below for some of the volunteer opportunities. Each area has its own schedule and time requirements. When you join the Zoo’s Volunteer program, you will receive: • Training • Invitations to special events and opportunities • Recognition and appreciation • The monthly newsletter

Education
Educator
After Basic Interpretive Training (BIT), there are many opportunities to educate Zoo visitors. Volunteer Educators work as: • Animal Handlers* • Tour Guides • Interpreters at the Ask Me Carts throughout the Zoo • Slide Program Presenters
* Some volunteer education programs require prior experience in our basic teaching programs (after BIT) to qualify for training in an advanced program.
