VolunTEEN Application Procedures

To apply for the VolunTEEN Program for the first time, we need in one envelope:
• The completed VolunTEEN application.
• Two written recommendations from adults who know you well such as a teacher, scout leader or employer (not from friends or relatives.) Your recommendations should address the following: 1. Your dependability; 2. Leadership abilities; 3. Ability to deal with people; 4. Willingness to learn; and 5. Self-motivation.
• A paragraph from you, in your own words, on why you want to be a Zoo volunteer.

To apply to return to the VolunTEEN Program, we need:
• The completed VolunTEEN application.
• A paragraph about why you want to return to the VolunTeen Program.

Send all of your completed paperwork together in one envelope by March 1st to:

We are not accepting applications after March 1st, so be certain yours reaches us on time. Expect to hear back from us by letter around the end of April. If you’re ready to make new friends, learn more about the Zoo and interact with our many visitors, we want to hear from you. We hope you enjoy your experience here as a VolunTEEN.
