  Mill Creek Restoration Project

Mill creek is a degraded river that flows through the heart of Cincinnati draining a 166 square mile watershed into the Ohio River. The Mill Creek Restoration Project (MCRP) is a community organization with the mission to serve as a catalyst for developing sustainability in the Mill Creek watershed through community based planning and empowerment, environmental education, and economically sound ecological restoration. MCRP partnered with citizens and local governments and developed a greenway master plan which it has begun implementing by installing a native plant garden in Salway Park, restoring a 7 acre prairie habitat in North Fairmount, restoring the west fork of Mill Creek in Woodlawn and other projects. MCRP also sponsors a free, comprehensive environmental education project that reaches an average of 1,000 local students annually.
