Creating Adventure, Conveying Knowledge, Conserving
Nature, Serving Community
Conservation is one of the cornerstones of the Cincinnati Zoo
& Botanical Garden’s mission. The Zoo’s commitment
to conservation is clearly demonstrated through the number of
conservation programs in which staff is intricately involved.
CREW, the Cincinnati Zoo’s Lindner Center for Conservation
and Research of Endangered Wildlife, serves as the umbrella
that
encompasses
all of the Zoo’s conservation efforts in addition to the
research programs. In many cases, CREW’s conservation
and research efforts are spearheaded by the Zoo & Botanical
Garden’s
very own staff. In other cases, the Zoo helps by supporting programs
led by world renowned conservation organizations. In either
case,
we form critical partnerships with other scientists, conservationists
and governmental and non-governmental organizations to help
save
the endangered plants, animals and ecosystems of the world. |
