If you are wild about wine, mark your calendar for the Cincinnati
Zoo & Botanical Garden’s 2008 wine tasting series.
All proceeds benefit the Zoo’s Lindner Center for Conservation & Research
of Endangered Wildlife (CREW) – the umbrella for all local
and international conservation and research efforts of the Cincinnati
Zoo. The series kicked off this year on Monday, March 3 (rescheduled
from Thursday, Feb. 21) with an “Australia” theme
at the Zoo’s Manatee Springs.
The next event is on April 16 and will highlight South American
wines generously provided courtesy of EQ the Cooking
School @ Party Source. The
featured wines will include: (Whites) Alamos Chardonnay, Alamos
Torrontes,
De
Gras
Sauvignon
Blanc and (Reds):
Alamos Pinot Noir, Cousino Macul Cabernet, Nomad Malbec. The
event will be held in the Education Building and Discovery Forest
(the Zoo's rainforest). Guests will have the opportunity to meet
a Brazilian ocelot and learn about CREW research. Light appetizers
generously provided by Cactus Pear Restaurant.
There will be two other wine tastings held on June 19 (West
Coast wines with food courtesy of Habanero) and August 21 (African
wines). Each tasting takes place from 6–8 pm and features
a selection of libations from EQ the Cooking School @ The Party
Source, light appetizers, animal encounters, tours, music,
a silent auction, and a bit of wine education. NOTE: TICKETS
FOR THE AUGUST EVENT ARE EXPECTED TO SELL-OUT SOON!
Tickets can be purchased individually or for the entire series: Pre-Purchase
